Aintree law firm says goodbye to Jean and Joan

It was “an end of an era” at Maxwell Hodge as the solicitors firm said goodbye to two long-standing members of staff.

Colleagues Jean Dunn and Joan Cave – who are also friends and neighbours -- retired last week from Maxwell Hodge’s Aintree office after a combined 32 years.

Maxwell Hodge moved into their Old Roan premises on Altway eight years ago, after taking over law firm Vyner-Brooks. Both Jean and Joan enjoyed life at work so much, they stayed on at the office past retirement age.

Joan is now looking forward to spending more time with her husband and family, including her daughter in South Africa, and Jean hopes to do more walking and gardening, as well as visiting family.

They said: “We are sad to leave as we work with a lovely crowd and for us, it really is the end of an era. But we live nearby and will keep in touch.”

Denise Scoular, Equity Partner and Director of the Non-Contentious Division at Maxwell Hodge said: “Jean and Joan have been a pleasure to work with over the years, and deserve a huge thanks for all their hard work here. They are much loved and will be very much missed by everyone.”

Maxwell Hodge is one of the region’s leading law firms, operating from eight offices stretching from Formby to Wirral, with a city centre office in the heart of Liverpool’s business district.
